Introducing the Stellify Award for Master's students
14 Sep 2023
The postgraduate version of our unique award supporting personal development and graduate outcomes launches in September 2023
The award has been specifically designed to run alongside postgraduate studies, encouraging students to make a difference and contribute to the community in a positive way, and we have emailed all postgraduate taught students inviting them to take part.
Through volunteering, leadership roles and ethical grand challenges, students will not only take action to help causes they truly care about, but will also be prepared for life after university by engaging with areas of our University outside of their studies.
How it works
Everyone's Stellify Award journey will be different - giving students a unique and personalised set of skills and experiences that allow them to make a difference while they’re here at Manchester.
The award is divided into three areas with the idea that by the time our PGT students leave us, they will have made a real impact and gained a wide range of experiences alongside their academic activities:
- Understand the Issues that Matter: complete two out of the three Ethical Grand Challenges (Sustainability, Social Justice and Workplace Ethics).
- Make a Difference: complete 10 hours of volunteering which benefits the wider community.
- Champion for Change: undertake one role where the student is an agent for change, for example representing the voice of their peers or helping make change happen at the university.
Upcoming events for postgraduates:
18-22 September is Welcome Week. Students can find Stellify at the 'Start of Year Fair' on Monday and Tuesday at the Welcome Huts.
