The University appoints George Whalley as Deputy Chief Financial Officer

A message from Carol Prokopyszyn

I am excited to announce the appointment of George Whalley as Deputy Chief Financial Officer.

George is currently working for the Royal Northern College of Music, where he has been the Director of Finance for three years. During that time, and through the challenges of the pandemic, he has worked with the College’s executive team and Board of Governors to significantly improve the financial performance of the College, and the reporting and planning processes.

George previously worked at The University of Manchester in a range of finance roles and had continued his connection with us as RNCM representative on our General Assembly.

I am delighted to welcome him back. He brings with him wide range of experience, with strengths in leadership and stakeholder management, set alongside strong technical knowledge.

George will start with us on 1 March.
