Supporting our students: Stepped Care Model new version
08 Aug 2023
Our University’s framework for supporting our students, the Stepped Care Model, has recently been updated to reflect changes in the support available to our students
If you’re not already familiar with this resource, it’s an evidence-based model which helps colleagues to match the appropriate level of welfare/health or mental health support to a student’s level of need. This helps to ensure that the student accesses the right level of support.
In short, it helps colleagues to directly support students, or to escalate to more specialist services, based on what they need at that moment in time.
Please take a moment to familiarise yourself with the new model as all colleagues should be able to provide support at steps one and two. The updated resource also contains information about the student facing model – the Support Wheel.
The updated version can be found at:
- Supporting students: Stepped Care Model (if you are currently using a direct link to the old model, please note that this URL has now changed and the new one should be used).
Remember that if you have significant concerns for a student, the crisis pathway should be followed.
