Mandatory cyber and data protection training
Given the current situation with the cyber incident, it is especially important for colleagues to understand data protection and cyber security.
Data Protection and Cyber Security training was made available in October 2022 for all staff to complete by the end of January 2023. If you have not completed the training in the last 12 months, you must do so by Friday, 14 July.

My Manchester unavailable from last Friday, 7 July
As part of our response to the cyber incident, a controlled shut down of 'My Manchester for students' took place on Friday, 7 July.
It’s expected that the service won’t be available again for some time.
‘My Manchester for staff’ will be unaffected, but we might see some disruption to some other services that is likely to be temporary.
Access to services
Some services that are normally accessed via My Manchester can be accessed directly. Information about this has been published on the student news website. Students trying to access My Manchester will automatically be redirected to this page when the service is unavailable.
Applications and admissions processes
The shut down will impact some of our University processes for applications and admissions. Business continuity arrangements are being worked on and we’ll be in a position to update soon.
Thank you for your continued patience and understanding as we respond to the cyber incident.
