Campus car parks: update
15 Jun 2023
An update on capacity while the Aquatics Centre car park remains closed
While the City Council hopes to reopen the Aquatics Centre car park soon, no date has yet been confirmed.
This closure is having a significant impact on our other car parks, particularly Booth Street West, where we have already limited public access. We’d like to remind all University permit holders that while the Aquatics Centre car park is closed, you can access all our car parks – not just Booth Street West, but also Charles Street, Cecil Street and Dilworth Street.
Booth Street West car park is particularly busy on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, while Mondays and Fridays are much quieter. If you usually work on campus on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, please consider utilising our other car parks, where there is much higher capacity.
There are also several public transport options that serve campus – and now that summer is here, why not give cycling to work a try? We have bike shelters and shower facilities available on campus. Staff and postgraduates can arrange bike shelter access set by emailing a screenshot of your University ID card to carparking@manchester.ac.uk, or by calling in to the Car Parks office.
