Manchester Graduate Talent: placing our students in University roles
09 Jun 2023
The scheme is a fantastic opportunity for our undergraduate finalists to take their first career steps
The Careers Service has officially placed over 2,000 of our students through the Manchester Graduate Talent (MGT) scheme – an internship programme which allows graduates to kick start their careers and gain valuable experience.
The MGT internships offer paid graduate-level jobs within our University, as well as small and medium enterprises in and around Manchester, with a range of roles and departments. There are both short and long-term internships available for our students to take advantage of.
Lindsay Bann, Student Success and Development Manager says: “MGT is a great way to bring in junior members of the team who add immense value to the team whilst giving new graduates a great personal development opportunity. Many have gone on to secure permanent promotions within the university as a result of their internship year and the development they make is really satisfying to watch.”
Throughout it’s time, we’ve been delighted to provide our graduating students with the opportunity to develop the skills gained during their time at university and make a positive impact in their new role. They are contributing to our University’s success in their positions whilst boosting their future employability.
Michelle Munson, Student Communications and Engagement Officer adds: “Having a graduate intern has always been a great asset and in return, we make sure that we help them to develop the skills they need to help their careers progress when they leave us.”
With new vacancies being added each week, we’re currently recruiting our next cohort of MGT interns. We hope you can help spread the word to finalists ahead of graduating this summer so they can register early and get applying for the fantastic roles on offer. Or maybe you have a role available that you think would be suitable for an intern.
