Do you want to develop new skills as a coach?
Do you want to learn from an amazing industry provider with particular experience of supporting students from racialized communities?
Do you want to help students of Black heritage to succeed?
Our Access and Student Success team is launching a pilot programme to provide coaching support to students of Black heritage in the Faculty of Biology Medicine and Health (FBMH) – and you can find out more at our information session.
The session will be held on Wednesday, 24 May 3.30pm – 4.30pm. It is both in person and streamed online for those who cannot attend. You can choose the relevant ticket via our Eventbrite page.
“This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new approach to supporting our students to achieve their full potential,” explained Alex Jackson, Student Access Success and Development Manager.

Designed to support students to achieve academic excellence, the pilot will provide full training to academic and PS colleagues interested in becoming a coach.
At the information session, you will hear from the project team, including Adam Danquah, Associate Dean for Inclusive Education, FBMH and members of the central Access and Student Success team.
The session will cover:
- an overview of the coaching pilot
- the positive impact coaching can have for students
- the commitment for staff to become a coach.
There will also be an opportunity to ask questions.
