Peer support celebrated at awards ceremony
21 Apr 2023
This year’s Peer Support Celebration and Awards Event took place in Whitworth Hall on the evening of 20 April 2023
The Peer Support Celebration and Awards Event recognised and rewarded Peer Mentors, PASS Leaders, Student Coordinators, and colleagues for their valued voluntary contributions.
The awards for Outstanding Contributions to Peer Support and Outstanding Schemes were presented to winners and the keynote speech was given by Professor Judy Williams, Associate Vice-President for Teaching, Learning and Students.
Peer Support helps first year students transition into university life by providing them with regular support from higher year student volunteers from their area of study. There are over 1,700 student volunteers and colleagues involved in the Peer Support community.
Thank you to all the supporters of Peer Support - Peer Mentoring and PASS can only function with the dedication and support of students and staff involved in the schemes.
Our student volunteers go above and beyond their roles and play a key part in building a sense of belonging at our University and these awards allow us to recognise their contributions.
