It's almost time to celebrate the achievements of our Class of 2023

Graduation is a significant milestone in every student’s life. It gives them an opportunity to reflect on their time at Manchester and recognise their hard work and achievements. With ceremonies just three months away, we’re already looking forward to welcoming the graduating class of 2023 onto campus to celebrate their success with family and friends.

Summer graduation also marks the end of another academic year for colleagues working at the University. It is a fantastic opportunity for you not only to consider your own contributions towards our students’ success, but to attend the ceremonies and take part in the celebrations. So this year, why not participate in a graduation ceremony and help us make it a truly memorable experience.

The ceremonies will take place in-person at Whitworth Hall from Tuesday, 11 July to Friday, 21 July 2023. All teaching and learning staff, including academic and professional services staff, are invited to join the academic procession during the ceremonies. The full schedule of ceremonies is available on the graduation website, and students can find information here about their own graduation. There are a maximum of 25 places each procession (excluding roles of presiding officer, tailored speakers and presenters) which are issued on a first come first served basis.

If you wish to attend the ceremony, have a look at the full timetable to choose the ceremony for your department or faculty, and register to join the academic procession. To register your attendance and order your gown, please follow the attached guidance. When booking, be mindful that the ceremony timeslots are subject to change.

If you are a presenter or tailored speaker, don’t forget that you also need to register your attendance and order gowns as appropriate. If you have your own gowns, please indicate when registering that you will provide your own gowns.

If you need to change your attendance or any of your details you can do this at any time before the gown hire deadline of Friday, 23 June 2023.
