Following our previous ‘Social Responsibility and Civic Engagement’ information sessions which have taken place over the past few of months, we are now inviting colleagues to attend our fourth session - Environmental Sustainability which will take place on 19 April at 12pm.

The session will cover our environmental sustainability strategy and some key supporting projects and initiatives. During the session you will:

  • Hear about our zero carbon plans for 2038
  • Find out more about sustainable laboratories
  • Understand more about nature-based solutions to climate change.

The Environmental Sustainability session is part of a series of open sessions where you will be able to gain a greater understanding of social responsibility and civic engagement at the University, hear how our social responsibility and civic engagement strategy results in real actions and impact and see how we are making a difference regionally, nationally and internationally. Participants can attend as many or as few sessions as they wish.

Book now for the next session

A further two sessions will take place over the coming months, each one focused on one of our strategic priorities:

Who should attend?

These sessions are aimed at all staff and students who are interested in how our University is making a positive difference to society and the environment through our Social Responsibility and Civic Engagement Plan. The content will be useful to anyone who wishes to find out more about the impact of our social responsibility activities, key people behind its delivery and our plans for the future.

Chaired by senior leaders, the sessions will be delivered by managers and beneficiaries of our programmes to provide real-life examples of our impact. There will be time for Q&As and feedback. Each session will last approximately 45 minutes.
