Shape the focus and content of Simon Institute Conference 2008
01 Aug 2007
Invitation to academics working in public management and public policy
Dear Colleagues
The date for the second Simon Institute conference has been set for 16 April 2008. The conference intends to provide a venue at which individual academics from across Manchester who work in the area of public management and public policy can highlight their work. The 2007 conference was a great success, if for no other reason than it informed attendees of the breadth of research occurring within Manchester. It has been highlighted that we represent the biggest UK group of academics working in these areas and associated disciplines but with size comes the inevitable difficulties about knowing what is going on elsewhere and how we may capitalise on this for the purposes of scholarship and our 'product offers'.
We therefore wish to invite some additional members to be part of the conference panel who will help shape the focus and content of the conference for next year. In particular, we have no representatives from the School of Education, Politics and the wider Business School. The existing members Prof. Stephen Harrison (NPCRDC); Dr Willy McCourt (IDPM) and Dr Carole Johnson (Simon Institute) will remain.
If you are interested in being part of the conference panel, please reply to:
Best wishes
