SharePoint 2010 migration to SharePoint Online: what you need to do
03 Feb 2023
We’ll shortly start the migration process for SharePoint 2010 sites - where the owners have asked us to do this for them
Later in the year we’ll remove all SharePoint2010 sites. We’re migrating sites to SharePoint Online because it provides better functionality, usability, and security than SharePoint 2010, which is out of date, unsupported and at risk of failure.
If you’re a SharePoint 2010 manager or user this will affect you and there are tasks for you to do.
Please read the SharePoint Migration page, especially the tasks page, as this tells you more about the tasks which you as users or site owners need to undertake to ensure the process runs successfully. This site also provides more information about why we’re carrying out this work, the benefits, next steps and the impact this will have on site owners and users.
The project will continue emailing site owners directly to ensure they are aware of tasks and deadlines for completion. By the end of 2023, we aim to have migrated all sites and deleted the old SharePoint 2010 sites.
