Senate membership update

Senate recently voted to increase the size of its membership, from 70 to 100 members
The following members have been added:
- Nine Heads of School added to Senate as ex-officio members;
- Nine Chairs of School Boards added to Senate as elected members;
- Nine elected members added to Senate to maintain the ratio of two elected members for every one ex-officio member;
- Three additional student members
In addition to the nine new elected members, a tenth place was available in Humanities, to replace a member who recently retired from the University; and an eleventh place became available in Biology, Medicine and Health, because of a change in membership status.
The 11 new elected members of Senate from 1 February 2023 are:

Faculty of Humanities

- Dr Carl Emery, School of Environment, Education and Development
Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health
- Professor Sheena Cruickshank, School of Biological Sciences
- Dr Jen McBride, School of Health Sciences
- Andrew Mawdsley, School of Health Sciences
- Dr Hema Radhakrishnan, School of Health Sciences
