Student fundraisers’ success in telephone campaign

Student telephone fundraisers raise over £18,000 to support their peers at Manchester - gifts from generous alumni will go directly to support students who need it most

More than £18,000 of support has been made available, thanks to generous donations to our most recent telephone fundraising campaign from over 200 of our generous alumni community.

Gifts will be used in a variety of ways - from providing emergency grants to offering means-tested scholarships. All support will go directly to ensuring all students are given chance to fulfil their potential at Manchester, no matter their background.

The brilliant team of fundraisers is made up of students employed by our Division of Development and Alumni Relations. The students telephone alumni two to three times a year to chat to them about Manchester and find out what they've been up to since graduation. They also invite alumni to make a difference to Manchester students by donating to provide scholarships, hardship grants, and other forms of support.

Alumni thoroughly enjoy hearing from our students in this way, and the feedback the team has received has been incredibly positive.

The generosity of our alumni community is particularly appreciated at this time, given the rising cost of living and the serious financial challenges facing our students today.
