Remembrance Day

Two minutes' silence at 11am on Friday 11 November
University colleagues are invited to mark Remembrance Day with two minutes' silence at 11am on Friday 11 November.
You can take time to reflect outside in The Quad and in other communal areas, or at your desk in the office or working from home.
This gives us the opportunity to remember the members of the armed forces who have died in the line of duty.

Armed Forces Covenant
The Armed Forces Covenant ensures members of the Armed Forces community are treated fairly in our communities, economy and society. The Covenant is a specific commitment which institutions and organisations can make to recognising the challenges faced by service and ex-service personnel and their families.
The University of Manchester will be working towards supporting this pledge in 2022/2023 and becoming a proud member of the Armed Forces Covenant.
If you are Reservist or an ex-member of the Armed Forces or a partner or dependent of a member or ex-member of the Forces, then please do reach out to Brooke Foulger, Policy Manager brooke.foulger@manchester.ac.uk to discuss this important piece of work further and how you may want to be involved.
