Removal of abandoned bikes and locks on campus
28 Sep 2022
Got a bike on campus? Not used it for a while? Better check it's not been tagged
To ensure that we continue to provide adequate cycle parking provision on campus a check of bike racks and bike shelters has recently been done to identify those that appear to have been left for some time unused.
A significant number of locks have also been left in cycle shelters which are making it difficult for users to park their bikes. Over 300 locks have been tagged and will be cut off in November if they have not been removed.
Over 40 bikes have been tagged across campus and will be removed during November to ensure we have maximum capacity for those cyclists needing to park. The bikes will be kept in storage for three months before being donated to charity.
If you think your bike or lock may be affected and you are unable to move it, please contact es@manchester.ac.uk
