First conference hosted in historic Oddfellows Hall

08 Sep 2022

Earlier this week, our Conferences and Venues team welcomed the Vegan Society to Oddfellows Hall for their research day

Following extensive renovation, Oddfellows Hall opened its doors once more as a venue for events. And the first client was the Vegan Society, with around 50 delegates attending their research day on Tuesday, 6 September.

Refreshments and lunch were served in the Beehive Restaurant on the ground floor - with an all vegan menu provided by Hospitality On Campus, which included koftas, falafel, pitta, raita, hoummus/beetroot hoummus, Greek salad, rocket salad, fruited cous cous and salted caramel brownie.

Head of Sales Sarah Evans said: "We were delighted to host our first event in Oddfellows Hall and showcase this wonderful building. We were approached by Jack Coffin in the Department of Materials to host this conference, it has been great to work collaboratively and deliver a successful event.”

Jack explained: "The Vegan Society are a charity that support evidence-based educational resources and policy recommendations to encourage more people to make the transition to veganism. I am currently working with them on a project about vegan brands and social responsibility, so when they asked about a venue for their upcoming event, I thought Oddfellows Hall was the perfect place."

Alex Huntley from the Vegan Society added: “Thank you so much for all your support with our Research Day, I really appreciate everything the teams have done for us to make this event a success. I received some really positive feedback from delegates at the end of the conference and it seems that everyone had a great time.

"I also heard a lot of praise for the venue itself - Oddfellows Hall is a fantastic place to host a conference and we will certainly consider it for any future events.”
