Lunch and Learn session: Using EDI data
17 Aug 2022
Join our next Lunch and Learn session on Wednesday, 24 August from 12pm until 12:45pm
The Directorate of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion are inviting colleagues to attend their second in a series of EDI short Lunch and Learn sessions over Microsoft Teams with the next topic covering ‘How do we use your EDI data?’
In this Lunch and Learn session, Data Analyst Sami Karamalla-Gaiballa will explain the importance of collecting Equality, Diversity and Inclusion information about staff and students and how this benefits the wider University community.
Data plays a huge part in understanding equality achievements but also identifys gaps, especially as we seek to actively explore the concept of intersectionality in our approach to progressing Equality, Diversity and Inclusion.
Improving our Workplace Equality Information response rates
With Manchester Pride coming up over the August Bank Holiday Weekend, we especially want to use this opportunity to draw attention to our Workforce Equality Information response rates for Sexual Orientation. As outlined in our Equality Information Report 2022 we currently have a colleague response rate of 67.1%. While this has improved since 2017 when we reported a 53.1% response rate, we wish to encourage colleagues to visit their MyView Dashboard and complete their ‘My Equality Details’ information so we can have a more accurate and representative understanding for future reporting.
We look forward to discussing data further with you!
