Updates on campus-wide network connectivity issues

Update 3 (5.15pm, Wednesday 10 August)

Today's work has completed without any interruption to connectivity. There is not expected to be any disruption this evening. Further work still needs to take place to resolve the issue – we will update you when we know more about the timescales for this. 

Update 2 (12.25pm, Wednesday 10 August)

After recent campus-wide connectivity issues, work took place on the afternoon of Tuesday 9 August to improve reliability of University network connectivity. However, we still have additional work to perform very soon which will result in short periods of interruption to connectivity, at a time to be confirmed. We'll let you know here when we have more details.

Update 1 (2.30pm, Tuesday 9 August)

As part of fully resolving the recent issues which have resulted in campus-wide network disruption, IT Services need to perform essential emergency work starting at 3pm today, Tuesday 9 August. This work will take approximately two hours, during which time there will be three expected outages of 30 seconds each, affecting all network connected services.

Original message (12.45pm, Tuesday 9 August)

At approximately 10.05am on Tuesday 9 August, the University experienced a campus-wide loss of network connectivity, lasting until approximately 11.15am.

Connectivity has been restored, and we will continue to closely monitor all services, however if you are still experiencing problems, please report these directly to the IT Support Centre:

In addition, it’s likely that we’ll need to do some additional work very soon as part of the full resolution of the recent connectivity issues, which will cause an interruption to connectivity.
