Announcement of new DoFO and interim arrangements

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Dr Elizabeth (Beth) Micakovic. Beth is currently Head of Strategic Development at Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, Queen Mary University of London. She will take up her role on 31 October.
Beth has fifteen years of experience in Higher Education, beginning her career as a lecturer at the Faculty of American and English Studies at the University of Salzburg, Austria. Following the completion of her PhD in English Literature at the University of Exeter, she worked in research management within The National Archives before being appointed as the Vice-Chancellor’s Policy Officer at the University of Greenwich.
Reacting to her appointment, Beth said: “I am delighted and enormously privileged to be joining the University of Manchester, an institution that so clearly situates its community and a commitment to equity at the heart of its strategy. I am looking forward to working in partnership with students and colleagues within the Faculty as it continues to build on its outstanding reputation for globally impactful research and education.”
Registrar, Secretary & Chief Operating Officer (RSCOO), Patrick Hackett, said: “I am so pleased that we have appointed Beth. She brings a wealth of strategic and operational excellence to the DoFO role for BMH, and my colleagues and I look forward to her joining the Professional Services Leadership Team.
“Until Beth joins us, and with effect from 1 August, Liz Caine, Head of Operations in the School of Biological Sciences, will act as Interim Director of Faculty Operations. I would like to thank Liz for taking on this responsibility; her leadership over the coming few months will be much appreciated.”
