The Met Office has issued a red warning for exceptional heat

Exceptional heat expected across England
Exceptional heat is expected to affect a large part of England early next week, with temperatures likely in the high 30s C.
The Red Extreme heat national severe weather warning will cover Monday and Tuesday (18th and 19th July) for parts of central, northern, eastern and southeastern England.
Travel may be disrupted and so colleagues are advised to take necessary precautions.
A Level 4 UK Health Security Agency Heat Health Alert has also been issued for Monday and Tuesday. This level of alert is used when a heatwave is so severe and/or prolonged that its effects extend outside the health and social care system. At this level, illness may occur among the fit and healthy, and not just in high-risk groups.
If you feel you may need additional support or reasonable adjustments please raise these with your line manager in the first instance.
Update
For staff travelling onto campus today (Monday, 18 July), we are aware that there are some potential travel disruptions due to the exceptional heat we are experiencing. To mitigate public transport issues, the University carparks will be open to staff today (Monday, 18 July) and tomorrow (Tuesday, 19 July) free of charge.
