Learn how accessible Microsoft 365 technology can help you work more effectively and inclusively.

This article is for everyone to share the Microsoft 365 (M365) accessibility resources available to you, these are there to help you make adjustments that will support those you interact with, whether it is colleagues or students. Some of the available resources will also save you valuable time.

We all have a responsibility to build an inclusive work and teaching culture, including documents that are usable for as wide an audience as possible - for students, staff and external partners. It is vital that all our students and colleagues can fully participate and get the most from their learning and work.

The University is legally required to make “reasonable adjustments” to support disabled students and staff, under the Equality Act (2010). This includes anticipating what needs disabled people may have – for example, creating and adapting teaching materials in advance to make sure they’re accessible to everyone.

The new university Accessibility Resources page on the M365 Help and Support SharePoint site provides lots of information, videos, and tips on how to make your content and meetings more accessible for both yourself and others.

Microsoft have prioritised their accessibility features and can support you to develop some simple everyday habits using key tools in M365. The Microsoft 365 Accessibility pages offer plenty of useful tips.
