Donations urgently needed to help a women’s refuge
24 Jun 2022
Could you donate any kitchenware to help women in temporary accommodation?
After an amazing response to our collection back in summer 2020, we are once again looking for donations to support Women's Direct Access Shelter. The centre provides residents with a safe place to stay, so they can receive support with mental health, long-term accommodation, training, and employment.
- If you’d like to donate, please contact frances.muscatelli@manchester.ac.uk
We really appreciate everyone’s donations, but the likelihood is that anything not featured on the list below can’t be used, so please only donate the following items.
Can you donate any of these items?
- Mugs
- Glasses
- Plates
- Bowls
- Cutlery
- Basic kitchen utensils (spatula, masher, whisk, large serving spoons etc)
- Tupperware of all sizes
In addition, donations of the following are always welcome:
- Basic unopened toiletries – shower gel, face wash, moisturiser, shampoo, conditioner (not bath stuff as there are no baths!)
- New basic women’s underwear in various sizes
- Arts and crafts supplies
We have a long-term relationship with the centre and continue to provide regular gardening sessions. Students have volunteered almost 200 hours renovating the garden space after it was neglected during the COVID-19 pandemic and your support has continued to make a huge difference.
