Staff benefits and wellbeing update

09 Jun 2022

Support available during the cost of living crisis

Everyone is experiencing the pinch of increased prices. Being able to make use of discounts on your supermarket 'big shops', clothing, day to day expenses and special treats for you and your loved ones may help save hundreds of pounds over the year.

When on campus you can save 10% at FoodonCampus outlets by using FoodinAdvance. This is when you load your Staff ID card with funds and pay using the card. After you first load your card online, you can then top-up at any FoodonCampus outlet.

You can access a range of savings from Odeon, Costa Coffee, Nando's, Sealife and more through your Vivup Lifestyle Savings employee benefit. The savings at Sealife are significant if taking a family.

With Father’s Day just around the corner, it’s a great time to explore the wide range of gifts and tech gadgets sure to make him smile in your Home and Electronics employee benefit. You can spread the cost on tech, domestic appliances, furniture, lifestyle items, gardenware and more while enjoying convenient delivery to your door. This scheme may be particularly useful if you have a distress purchase like a broken down washing machine or fridge freezer.

The latest Top Gun Maverick film is incredibly popular and with the Cinema Society you can save up to 40% on cinema tickets.

Financial wellbeing

Worries about money can cause undue stress for many people. If you are experiencing any mental distress due to money worries, do not delay contacting the University's employee assistance programme - Validium. They can offer confidential money and debt support. Lines are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year – you’ll always be able to speak to someone who can help. Calls are confidential and what you say will never be shared with anyone at the University.

The financial wellbeing page is continually being updated and may provide some useful support.
