Update meeting: an update on the Digital Learning Environment review

All staff are invited to attend an update meeting about the Digital Learning Environment (DLE) on Monday, 20 June
This update meeting is an opportunity for staff to learn about current work taking place on the Digital Learning Environment (DLE) review and ask any questions you may have.
What is the DLE review?
The term ‘Digital Learning Environment’ includes our virtual learning environment technology (web-based platforms such as Blackboard, Canvas etc.), alongside the wide range of other digital tools and applications required to support teaching and learning.
As part of our Flexible Learning Programme, in May 2021, we set up a group with colleagues from across the University to review what we want to see from our DLE and what support will be needed – with a view to delivering a new DLE over the next three to five years.

This meeting is open to all University staff and will take place on Monday, 20 June, 11.00am-11.45am (via Teams). The meeting will not be recorded, however a short summary will be available after the meeting for those unable to attend.

What have we done so far?
Alongside the DLE Review group, we held a series of workshops across the University for students and staff, and the feedback from these meetings was analysed to determine the requirements for the DLE. Going forward, we will produce recommendations for our future digital infrastructure, which will be shared over the summer. This DLE update meeting is a chance to ask any questions you may have ahead of this publication.
