Reminder about the staff survey, how to access staff discounts and giving back by volunteering for Purple Wave or via payroll giving
Can you help support and cheer on our Purple Wave runners
Volunteers are needed for the Great Manchester Run that is back this Sunday. It’s a great day out. Why not join the Purple Wave Cheerpoint and support staff and students running the half marathon and the 10k events? The half marathon starts at 8.30am and the first wave of the 10k is starting at 12.30pm. The Cheerpoint spot is on the junction of Chester Road and Bridgewater Way (A56).
Make your views heard
The staff survey has been extended until 31st May to allow colleagues more time to complete it. Share your views, both good and bad, to influence change and make a real difference.
Giving back
Our own Professor Tony Redmond OBE received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Pride of Manchester Awards recently for his dedicated work on the frontline of humanitarian disasters around the world.
The charity that was founded by Tony, UK-Med, currently has a team of their volunteer medics in Ukraine, where they have set up clinics to treat injured and displaced people as well as providing vital support and training for local healthcare staff. More on the Pride of Manchester winners.
If you are inspired to donate to UK-Med, or any other charity, you can do this via the University’s nationally commended payroll giving scheme. A £5 donation is boosted to £6.25 for regular taxpayers, at no cost to you. In these difficult times, these extra pennies and pounds means such a difference to many causes.
