Media Relations Team shortlisted for communications award

Our Media Relations Team (MRT) has been shortlisted for a Public Relations and Communications Association (PRCA) regional DARE Award

The MRT, which is based in the Directorate of Communications, Marketing and Student Recruitment, has been named a finalist in the ‘In-House Team of the Year’ category.

This category is open to any UK in-house private, not-for-profit or public sector PR and communications team, so the competition was fierce.

The PRCA, which is the world’s largest PR association, says its DARE Awards “seek out and reward the very best PR and communications professionals across the UK” and are “decided by a panel of highly respected industry experts."

The team will be judged on the role they play in the wider organisation, effective use of resources, implementation of creative ideas and general contribution to our University’s overall communications objectives.

Head of Communications Jamie Brown, said: “This is great news for the team, and well deserved. It’s a testament and timely recognition for all their hard work over past year, and beyond. I wish them good luck for when the awards are announced.”  

The winners will be announced in June at a special ceremony held in Manchester.
