Volunteers needed for our Undergraduate Open Days
28 Mar 2022
Our in-person Undergraduate Open Days will be returning later this year
UG Open Days, 18 June, 2 July, 1 October, 15 October
Our University is excited to be returning to in-person open days following a two-year break. Previously these events have attracted 15,000-20,000 visitors to each event - we're expecting similar numbers to attend this year. On offer will be subject information talks, campus tours, the chance to view our accommodation, as well as the opportunity to hear from key aspects of the student experience such as sport, careers, the library and much more.
We’re currently recruiting volunteers to work at these events. None of the roles require previous experience and full training and support will be provided. The events are always great fun and a lovely opportunity to speak with students that are eager to find out more about what Manchester has to offer. The type of things we need assistance with include:
- Working as a building host - managing flow in and out of high capacity buildings, ensuring lecture theatres are filled to capacity and exited according to one way systems in place
- Accommodation support - managing queues onto buses for accommodation tours or supporting at Fallowfield to ensure a smooth visitor experience
- Working on information desks - welcoming visitors to campus and answering general queries about where sessions are/location of buildings/what people can do on the day
If your work area isn’t already supporting our Undergraduate Open Days, and you’d like to be involved, please complete the short form below.
We advise speaking with your line manager first to see if any TOIL arrangements would be in place as these events fall on the weekend.
