Adèle takes part in an evening shift with Security services
Adèle MacKinlay, Director of People and Operational Development, joined Security services on Friday, 11 March to better understand what the team do and how they do it.
Adèle accompanied the evening shift on their vehicle patrols around the main University campus, Victoria Park and North campus and foot patrols around Fallowfield where she heard about the varied and unique challenges of the team. The shift also included a visit to both the Security Control Rooms and a tour of the CCTV and Incident Reporting System.
Reflecting on her shift, Adèle said, “The University’s Security services are simply amazing. They keep students, staff and buildings safe across a large and complex campus. They provide wellbeing services and are the first port of call for all emergencies. They are friendly, empathetic, knowledgeable, and resilient. I feel a sense of pride to work with such professionals.”
Alan Mottershead, Senior Security Supervisor said, “It was a pleasure to spend a few hours with Adèle last Friday night. All staff were pleased to see her, and we were glad that she had shown an interest to come and see how and where we work. Adèle and I had a great chat, discussing the varied and unique challenges we deal with on a regular basis.”
