Jodrell's First Light Pavilion opening date announced

The new interactive visitor attraction will open on Saturday, 4 June
The First Light Pavilion will showcase archives and artefacts together with animations and projections. Visitors will be able to experience what a meteor shower is like, or crawl into a black hole.
The new visitor experience will reveal Jodrell Bank in a new light, sharing the stories of its scientists and engineers and the pioneering science that has taken place here for over 75 years, as well as preserving and protecting the physical elements of Jodrell Bank’s heritage for future generations.
The pavilion will house a custom-built auditorium showing planetarium-style shows and a cafe using seasonal and sustainable produce.
A new temporary exhibition gallery will showcase the building's construction processes, such as how the telescope panels were removed and restored to form the backdrop of the main exhibition.
