Global health expert named on 2022 Northern Power Women Future List
16 Feb 2022
Congratulations to Lecturer in Global Health Dr Omolade Femi-Ajao, who features on this year's Northern Power Women Future List
Northern Power Women is a community of over 70,000 individuals dedicated to accelerating gender equality and social mobility from the North of England.
Their annual awards, Future List and Power List recognise the breadth of expertise and commitment demonstrated by women and those that identify as female in sectors as diverse as education, media, banking, non-profit, construction, travel and sport.
Speaking about being named, Dr Femi-Ajao said: "I am very pleased to have been included in the 2022 Nothern Power Women Future List. The Future List recognises the influencers and change-makers of the future who are already making a difference in their environments and communities.
"I feel honoured that my research and work with ethnic minority and migrant groups, especially on supporting women with lived experience of domestic violence and abuse, is recognised in this way, as this was instrumental in my inclusion on the list.
"As a Lecturer and an Early Career Researcher at the University, being included in the Future List is a significant achievement for me, as it will provide a platform to ensure that the voices of ethnic minority women and groups are included in policy dialogues, and other initiatives on improving their access to existing relevant services."
