Recruitment opens for MA in Counselling Studies

Qualification for staff undertaking pastoral support or interpersonal work

Dear Colleagues

I am writing to you to introduce you to the MA in Counselling Studies programme that we run at the university and for which we are now recruiting. This is a long-established programme with a strong national and international reputation. It is based on an integrative approach, the efficacy of which research is now supporting. It incorporates an introduction to a range of theoretical approaches, including cognitive-behavioural therapy, the therapy of choice in many settings and viewed as particularly suited to short-term, brief work.

This course would be ideally suited to any staff member whose role involves pastoral support of students, interpersonal work with other staff members etc. Previous cohorts have included lecturers, teachers, medical staff, social workers as well as people specifically wanting to take up a counselling career.
