Essential maintenance on UoM_WiFi and UoM_Guest networks

IT Services need to apply a change to both the UoM_WiFi and UoM_Guest Wi-Fi networks.

As a result, there will be an outage of approximately five minutes to people who are connected to Wi-Fi using those networks between 6pm and 7pm on Thursday 2 December. Due to the nature of the work, it’s not possible to state at which time during this period that the five-minute outage will occur.

Eduroam Wi-Fi is unaffected.

While all University staff and students should use eduroam when connecting to Wi-Fi, we’re aware that some choose to use the UoM_WiFi network. We always strongly advise staff and students to use eduroam - you don’t need to log in every time you want to connect, there is no inactivity timeout, and you can connect to eduroam at thousands of educational institutions across the world.
