Our Student Communications Commitment, 2021/22

Our strategic approach to student communications, in partnership with the Students’ Union

Since February this year, colleagues from across the University have been working in collaboration with the Students’ Union and a panel of our students to develop a new strategic approach to student communications. This led to the creation of our Student Communications and Engagement Strategic Framework, which was finalised in July.

We are now pleased to launch our student-facing publication of this, our Student Communications Commitment 2021/22.

The Commitment brings together the components of the framework that are most important to students (as highlighted by the students who worked with us), including:

• our principles for communicating with students
• the partnership commitment between the University, our students and the Students’ Union
• student voice, and how to engage
• overview of channels, including our social media guidance

We are very thankful to all PS and academic colleagues, and of course our students, who have contributed to the development of this important piece of work.

Work will commence again in 2022 to review and refresh the framework, in preparation for the 2022/23 academic year.
