Parents of 3-9 year olds wanted for study of parental thinking styles

25 Apr 2007

£15 for one hour of your time (no need for child's attendance)

I am a PhD student in the School of Psychological Sciences investigating the way that parents think about their child's environment.  It is believed that parents' thinking styles are important in the welfare of their children. In order to understand how anxiety affects parents' thinking styles we are looking for 30 parents to take part in a short study.

If you decide to take part you will be asked to meet me at a venue on the Oxford Road area of the campus. There you will be invited to complete three brief questionnaires concerning your own anxiety levels and those of your child.  You will also be asked to complete short tasks to assess how you interpret everyday situations in which your child might find him/herself. The study will take no more than one hour.  You will be reimbursed £15 for travel and childcare expenses.  Your child is not required to be present, but children are welcome to attend.

If you are interested in taking part, please contact me to arrange a convenient time or to ask me any questions:

I look forward to hearing from you.
