New speakers confirmed for the Sustainable Futures External Showcase Launch

The event will be held virtually on 20 October
We are delighted to announce Andy Burnham, Mayor of Greater Manchester, Mark Atherton, Director of Environment at GMCA and Susan Jay, Sector Specialist at Wrap UK, as guest speakers at the upcoming Sustainable Futures External Showcase Launch event. There has been a fantastic response to the event so far, with over 270 registered to attend from a variety of sectors including; local councils, UK HEI's, industry leaders in sustainable practices, and more widely there are academics registered from non-UK Higher Education institutes, including institutes in India, Australia and South America.
At the event, Professor Dame Nancy Rothwell, President and Vice Chancellor, will welcome attendees followed by an overview of Sustainable Futures 'challenge areas'. The event will include a panel session to discuss how Universities can work more effectively with other organisations to address environmental challenges, and how we can be more effective in terms of applying knowledge and evidence to address sustainability challenges.
