Brilliant and Black: Celebrating Black History Month
06 Oct 2021
Guest speaker Professor Dawn Edge, who is our Academic Lead for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (Race, Religion and Belief), will deliver this year's keynote presentation
The month of October has been celebrated as Black History Month (BHM) in the UK since 1987. This national celebration aims to recognise and celebrate Black British achievement and foster general knowledge and understanding of Black history. This year’s event will take place on Wednesday 13, October at 12pm.
Dawn will deliver this year’s keynote presentation – a perspective on race inequality and the current Black Lives Matter (BLM) issues.
There will be a welcome address from President and Vice-Chancellor Professor Nancy Rothwell. Our Director of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Banji Adewumi will also give an introduction.
This event will be delivered virtually - you can find further details, and how to register, on Eventbrite.
