17 Apr 2007
Who should have the final say on medical and scientific research?
- Scientists?
- Policy makers?
- Politicians?
- Lawyers?
- The 'general public'?
Book now to join the debate!
On Friday 4 May 40 PhD researchers from all disciplines will have the opportunity to debate an issue of national concern - what should the legal stand point be with respect to stem cell research?
The session is designed to challenge and will offer the chance to work with researchers from across the University, as well as a member of the European Commission.
The session will be led by a tutor from the European Commission, Brussels and UK GRAD, a national PhD training organisation funded by the UK Research Councils. This session is free of charge and open to University of Manchester PhD researchers.
PhD researchers from all disciplines are encouraged to apply. No prior knowledge of the debate topic is required.
The session will run from 9am to 3pm on Friday 4 May 2007 at a location on the Sackville Street Area of the campus (details on registration). A full debrief of this pilot session will be included. Lunch will be provided.
Places are filling fast! For further information or to register, please contact Dr Sarah Ashworth by Friday 27 April at:
