Free public debate - Stem cells: hope or hype?

Hear from the experts, join in the debate and cast your vote on 17 May

The North West Genetics Knowledge Park in partnership with the Museum of Science and Industry in Manchester.

Stem cell research and potential therapeutic applications is a controversial issue that exposes individuals from all sectors of society to the scientific and ethical dimensions of a heated debate. What are stem cells and how could stem cell research and therapies impact upon our society? Come along to this public event, to hear from experts in the field, join in the debate and cast your vote.

The debate will be chaired by Professor Trevor Cox, presenter of a weekly science show on BBC GMR. Panel speakers include Dr Daniel Brison, North West Embryonic Stem Cell Centre, Manchester and Professor John Harris, Sir David Alliance Professor of Bioethics, School of Law, The University of Manchester & Editor-in-Chief of The Journal of Medical Ethics.

Free nibbles and drink provided.
