Help new students by joining our AskMe ambassadors

Volunteers needed for the Welcome period
Every year hundreds of staff volunteer to help new students by becoming an AskMe ambassador. During the Welcome period, these ambassadors wear badges while around campus to let students know they’re available to answer questions and give information.
If you’d like to be an AskMe ambassador, just fill in this short online signup form by Friday, 3 September.
This year the ambassadors will be more important than ever, as we continue to reopen campus facilities and return to in-person teaching and learning. All our students will need help re-adjusting to campus life, whether they’re new or returning to campus after a period of remote study.
We also have many new staff members who have never worked on campus before, who may need a little help from the AskMe ambassadors while settling into their new work environment.
After you fill out the signup form above, our student communications team will let you know how to access the information you need and how to collect an AskMe badge (if you don’t already have one). The team will also be available in the run-up and throughout the Welcome period if you need support or additional information. We expect students will mainly ask about navigating campus, the events on offer during Welcome, and COVID-related questions.
We encourage everyone to be an ambassador if you can; we all have something to offer our students. Students really remember the welcome they receive in their first days and weeks on campus, and many ambassadors will mean they have plenty of support when they need it.
