Team Rwanda goes remote
08 Jun 2021
Encourage students to apply to our remote voluteering project before Monday, 14 June
This summer, the University’s Volunteering Team are running a remote version of Team Rwanda. This exciting four week remote volunteering project will support Azizi Life, a social enterprise working with artisans in the East African country.
If you know any students, particularly those who receive the Manchester Bursary and The Undergraduate Access Scholarship, who want to make a difference we need your help to encourage them to apply before Monday, 14 June.
We are looking for student volunteers to join each of the following sub-teams:
- Business and enterprise development
- Community impact research
- Digital media and storytelling
- Social media fundraising campaigns
This incredible opportunity will give students the chance to gain valuable skills, develop their inter-cultural awareness and enhance their employability. The volunteering commitment is around 8-10 hours per week, making it flexible around other commitments.
The project will begin with training and project-specific skills development, then teams will work together on real-time tasks supported by Azizi Life staff in Rwanda. Teams will solve problems, create new resources, and contribute to the growth of Azizi Life's projects. The project will close with an evaluation, skills mapping for students' CVs and a UK-Rwanda celebration.
