Car parking/bike shelter access updates
28 May 2021
Updates on Charles Street car park overnight closure, bike shelter access, and Cecil Street car park
Charles Street Car Park – overnight closure
Over the past few months, security improvements have been carried out at Charles Street Car Park. The improvements include new doors to entry and exits, mesh fencing around lower levels of the car park to restrict access to main entry points only, and shutters installed across the vehicle entry and exit lanes to enable the car park to be locked down.
From Monday, 21 June 2021, Charles Street Car Park will be locked overnight to reduce the opportunity for misuse of the car park. The new opening and closing hours are:
- Monday to Friday: 6am to midnight
- Saturday and Sunday: 6am to 11pm
Bike shelter access
There has been a technical issue with access control to the secure bike shelters and some user accounts have been deactivated. If you have not used the shelters in the last 12 months, please send a photo or scanned copy of your staff ID, ahead of your next visit to campus, to carparking@manchester.ac.uk for access to be restored.
Cecil Street car park
The barriers at Cecil Street car park have been lowered, however, parking for staff members is still available and open access at Dilworth Street car park is also still available.
