Our cultural assets to reopen their doors to the public

As restrictions ease further from 17 May, our cultural assets are looking forward to welcoming visitors again
Manchester Museum
Manchester Museum will reopen to the public from Wednesday, 19 May. Opening times will be 11am to 4pm, advanced booking of free, timed tickets is preferred to limit visitor numbers. The takeaway coffee shop will reopen on Monday, 17 May and the Museum shop has already reopened.
The Whitworth
The Whitworth is reopening on Wednesday, 19 May with screenings of a new two-screen film by London-based artist Imran Perretta. The film screens every half hour from 11am to 3.30pm, and ticket bookings are scheduled to link with the film screening times.
Jodrell Bank Discovery Centre
The Discovery Centre is open as an outdoor-only attraction. Opening times are now 11am-4pm Wednesdays to Fridays and 10am-5pm on weekends. Please note that all visitors are required to book an arrival time-slot before they visit. See the Lovell telescope and discover a range of outdoor exhibits. The Cafe and Gift Shop is also open. Tabley House
Enjoy the historic splendour of Tabley House from Thursday, 20 May onwards - bookings are now being taken for visits and afternoon tea. Opening times are 1pm until 5pm, Thursdays to Sundays plus Bank Holiday Mondays. Before booking, please view their COVID-19 health and safety measures and you can also find detailed directions.
John Rylands Research Institute and Library
The Rylands on Deansgate will be reopening to visitors on 24 June. Initially the Rylands will be open Thursdays to Saturdays only, but opening times will increase over the summer. Further details on how to book timed-ticketed places will be shared very soon.
