Import and export rules: understanding the changes
06 May 2021
Since the UK’s exit from the EU in January 2021, there have been changes to trading arrangements with countries forming part of the EU
In responding to these changes, it is important to:
- Understand what this means
- Plan properly
- Get help when necessary
The Central Procurement Office has collated guidance in collaboration with colleagues to help explain the changes to the import and export rules. The guide provides some background information on the changes, and what this means for purchases that may be now subject to import duties and VAT.
Where can I get help?
There are a number of resources available to colleagues:
- Importing goods - overview
- Import Guidance: reference sheet
- The Compliance and Risk website has sections explaining more about rules on import/export controls
- Contact the Finance Helpdesk if you have any questions
