Turing Scheme funding for international placements
28 Apr 2021
Following the announcement in December that the UK would not be participating in the next iteration of the Erasmus+ programme, the UK government announced the creation of a national mobility programme
Named the Turing Scheme, after scientist and mathematician Alan Turing, this scheme provides funding for students at UK universities to undertake study or work placements of four weeks or more across the globe.
Our University has submitted an application for Turing Scheme funding, co-ordinated by the International Programmes Office, to support student placements in 2021/22 across undergraduate, postgraduate taught and postgraduate research. The outcome of this application should be known in July and if our application is successful, further details will be disseminated, where relevant.
As this is the first year of the scheme we have no basis on which to assess the likelihood of our bid, or a proportion of it, being successful and so in planning placements for 2021/22 students should not assume that any funding will be available.
