Join us to celebrate our Making a Difference Awards
27 Apr 2021
The event will take place on Wednesday, 12 May at 6pm live from Manchester Museum
Everyone is invited to join our Chancellor Lemn Sissay and President and Vice-Chancellor Professor Dame Nancy Rothwell live online for our University’s Making a Difference Awards for Social Responsibility.
The awards, which recognise and celebrate the social responsibility achievements of the University’s staff, students, alumni and external partners will be held on Wednesday, 12 May, from 6 - 7:30pm live on YouTube and Facebook.
After a tumultuous year, we’re fortunate to be hosting our 2021 awards ceremony live from Manchester Museum, with a range of exciting entertainment in store. So why not tune in and join our annual event to help us celebrate the many ways our University community is making a difference?
This year’s shortlist includes projects as far ranging as creating an eco-friendly clothing range, to protecting Kenyan communities against COVID-19. The event is an opportunity for us all to show our appreciation for the positive impact that our staff, students, alumni and external partners are having on society and the environment.
We’ll also hear from Nalin Thakkar our Vice-President for Social Responsibility, about how we achieved our ranking as the world’s number one university in the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings.
