Manchester China Institute and Creative Manchester run third International Photography Competition
The UK-China International Photography Competition is back for the third year running. The competition, which promotes mutual understanding in UK-China relations through the celebration of our common humanity, is this year themed around the question, ‘What does caring mean to you?’
In the competition, entrants are asked to use smartphone cameras (no professional photography) to capture a moment associated with caring for others. Any resident in the UK or in China may participate and their photo should also have been taken in either the UK or China, and in 2021.
The competition launched on Monday, 1 March 2021 and closes on Monday, 3 May in 2021 at 11:59pm GMT. The top 30 photos selected will be printed and exhibited at an international arts space for from 7-27 June 2021. There will be a vote for the People’s Choice Award will happen during the exhibition, with the winning entries announced on 27 June 2021 at an awards ceremony
Prizes
- Best UK Submission: £1,000
- Best China Submission: £1,000 [¥8,888]
- People’s Choice: £500 [¥4,500]
Entrants should submit their photographs by email to creative@manchester.ac.uk, with the subject line “International Photography Competition 2021”.
