Encourage students to complete the Census 2021
11 Mar 2021
Census Day is 21 March and we’re asking staff to help promote the importance of completing the census to our students
Students’ circumstances may have changed during the COVID-19 pandemic, with many not living where they normally would when at university, and we need to make sure they are counted at their Manchester term time address.
Therefore it's even more important we get the information right and an accurate account of students in Manchester as it is vital in ensuring that service planning reflects the ‘normal’ student population in future.
This might be the first time that many students have heard of the census and are able to complete it themselves. So, we’d like to make it as easy as possible for students to understand what the census is, why it’s important and how to complete it.
Students will be receiving an email through their student email address today (Thursday, 11 March) informing them what the census is and how they should fill it out depending on where they are currently residing.
Students who are currently living in halls of residence or are in private accommodation in Manchester will receive a letter through the post.
Students who are currently living elsewhere due to the pandemic need to request a census access code to fill it out online.
