COVID-19 vaccine Q&A

08 Mar 2021

A Q&A session for staff about the COVID-19 vaccine is being held on Friday, 12 March at 12 noon.

The session has been organised by the University’s BAME Network and will focus primarily on the concerns of Black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME) communities, who have been disproportionately affected, and have suffered a higher impact of the disease.

Staff wanting to know more about these issues to help support their colleagues and other vulnerable groups are very welcome to attend.

There will be an opportunity to discuss the vaccine, ask questions and share any concerns. A panel made up of University colleagues and a local GP will be available to answer your questions. The panel includes:

  • Professor Arpana Verma (Clinical Professor of Public Health and Epidemiology in the Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health);
  • Dr Enam-Ul Haque (GP and Clinical Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health);
  • Dr Hina Siddiqi (GP and AskaDoc Trustee).

If you’d like to attend, please email Sarah Mohammad-Qureshi at s.mohammad-2@manchester.ac.uk

This is the first in a series of sessions focused on questions and concerns particular communities of staff may have about the vaccine.
