Presentation on IBM's Data Science Teaching and Research Resources

05 Mar 2021

A demonstration of IBM's free-to-use Data Science Teaching and Research Resources will take place on Wednesday, 24 March at 4pm

The team at Digital Futures is very pleased to welcome IBM to present some of their free-to-use Data Science Teaching and Research Resources. IBM offers a range of resources that are free for academic users, this includes:

  • OpenDS4All, a modular open education data science course designed to help get new courses off the ground quickly. Find out more about OpenDS4All
  • IBM Academic Initiative gives access to a range of modern technologies in open source and IBM software, hardware, course materials, training, technical support, and other resources. Find out more about the Academic Initiative.

The presentation will introduce the OpenDS4All concept, showing example modules and practical exercises, and provide an overview of what is available via the Academic Initiative. These resources are potentially valuable for teaching, self-study and research, but the University is currently making limited use of them.

If you are unable to attend this event, but are interested in finding out more about this initiative, please complete this form.

Digital Futures brings together over 1000 researchers from different disciplines across all three of the University’s faculties into multidisciplinary communities to tackle important research problems, build critical mass in new and emerging research areas and to work with external stakeholders to support Greater Manchester's ambitions as a leading digital city.
